"It will be an odd life, ought to be a good one for painting."the words of the artist Vanessa Bell talking about her life in 1916 when she moved to Charleston Sussex. Charleston became the country home of the Bloomsbury group. The walls, doors and furniture are decorated with art inspired by Italian fresco painting and the Post-Impressionists.
